Nice to meet you.
I’m Riley Morrison.
Growing up, I’ve always had a strong sense of who I am. With a passion for human connection I’ve travelled the world alone, experienced different cultures and seen life through various lenses. Having spent a couple of years working as a server and bartender, my love for people grew and grew. When I decided it was time to return to school, I had a hard time figuring out which direction I wanted to walk in. I love to write, I’m inspired by fashion, and my competitive drive is evoked by my love for hockey. Above all, though, I love sharing what I am passionate about. When I discovered the Radio Arts and Entertainment program at BCIT, which opens many different doors, I knew it was the place for me. Set to graduate in 2027, I am a student prepared to work hard in order to achieve my goals.

The Alter Ego: Rally
The first memory of hockey that I have is the day Alex Burrows scored the overtime goal against the Chicago Blackhawks in game seven of the 2011 NHL playoffs. My family and I were gathered around a small TV screen and we had an array of appetizers spread in front of us. The moment John Shorthouse made the call informing the Canucks Nation that Burrows had ‘slayed the dragon’, a flame ignited in me. From that moment on, I’ve loved all things hockey. I take any chance I can to go to live games because the arena awakens a side of me only its environment can. The nickname, ‘Rally’, originated from my sister calling me out when I got too into the game and I responded by saying it was time for the team to rally. It’s the perfect name to capture the spirit I have, not only when watching sports, but also in my everyday life.
Remember, Rally is not a person, it’s a state of mind.

“Fashion changes, but style endures.”
-Coco Chanel
Fashion has been a part of my life since birth. The ability to express myself through my clothes has been my favourite creative outlet for as long as I can remember. My biggest dream in life is to be invited to the Met Gala through my aspiring career in media. The only criminal record I obtain is my high school dress code record, but I looked fabulous in my mugshot.
